In 2020, Music Export Ukraine in partnership with Ukrainian Institute announced a set of open-calls for emerging Ukrainian artists on European showcase festivals. First round of applications were considered in February for Enea Spring Break, a major showcase festival and conference for professionals in Poznan, Poland. Based on double selection, four acts were selected for participation: Deepwine, DZ'OB, Gurt [O], and Kalush. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was postponed to 2021.
EXTRA SOUND is a long-term program of representation of Ukrainian musicians at key international showcase festivals created by Ukrainian Institute. Showcases are an important part of the ecosystem in the music industry and a meeting point for industry professionals, including bookers, agents, festival managers, labels representatives, and journalists. In 2020 selected showcase festivals were Enea Spring Break (Poland) and Waves Vienna (Austria).
