Music Export Ukraine in partnership with the Lithuanian artist management company and the label MONOKEY held the very first Eastern European Music Academy. It hosted students and mentors from 8 Eastern European countries (Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Belarus) during August-October 2020. The main focus of the Academy was the digitalization of non-academic music and collaboration between talents from the whole region. The opportunity was totally free and open to artists and music managers from 8 Eastern European countries. Eastern European Music Academy was supported by the European Union under the House of Europe programme in 2020.
Here's what our students got after the course:
- experience to collaborate, write music and build promo strategy along with the colleagues from the whole region;
- ability to expand their contacts in Eastern Europe to continue prospective collaboration;
- the toolbox of tips and tricks on how an artist can earn money now, when the live-industry is not an option;
- a music release under the Lithuanian label MONOKEY.
We are extremely proud of the outcome from our first digital academy. First, our target was to update the knowledge about the music business of our students during the pandemic times. But we ended up being not only the classmates, but a music family, supporting each other and reflecting on all those crazy events happening in the world. Now it’s not only about helping the music industry, but also about changing the European society in general.
